Comments on the Innovationdays

Positive mood among exhibitors and visitors
With its interdisciplinary concept, Hunkeler Innovationdays has always stood out from other trade fairs. This concept is well received by both exhibitors and visitors. We have summarized the positive feedback from some of the exhibitors for you.

There was great interest at the Hunkeler Innovationdays, the stands were well attended and customers signaled a clear willingness to invest. This shows that printing on paper is still an important topic - whether as direct mailing, which is still in demand, or as a product used for packaging or for a product that comes with something that is folded many times. The latter is not only used in the pharmaceutical industry, but is increasingly finding its way into cosmetics, food supplements and products such as pacifiers and baby bottles. There are many applications of this kind, which makes me very positive for the future. Because it also means that printing press manufacturers are not just concentrating on heavy grammages, but are increasingly focusing on thin paper.
In Lucerne, we demonstrated our automatic packaging with inspection in a slightly more compact line than at drupa. Our PPcobo autostacker embodies a flexible and fully automatic packaging solution for small-format folded products. We also had our fully automatic FA51/10 folding machine on board, which is available both with a flat pile feeder and as a continuous configuration from the reel. For the inserting sector, we demonstrated the MB inserting system with two insert feeders, which is scalable up to 16 feeders. We are pleased that we have already been able to install some of the automatic folding and packing systems for customers - partly in cooperation with Hunkeler, i.e. for processing roll-to-roll printing and then roll-to-final product without a large number of operators. The envisaged target is one operator for two complete systems. So far, all customers who have carried out the stress test with this solution are satisfied. I am therefore convinced that there will be further investments, especially as Germany is still a little behind in terms of automation in this area.
